Dr. Andrew S. Eisen DPT, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT-Founder/Owner

Andrew is a physical therapist, athlete and educator who has been practicing physical therapy since 2007. He enjoys treating a diverse patient population who are motivated to overcome injuries and surpass their prior levels of activity. Andrew’s style of physical therapy combines manual therapy techniques with practical, specific and unique movement-based exercise to allow people to regain their active, healthy lifestyles.

Andrew holds the highest levels of manual therapy certifications. In 2021 he completed his fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) with the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). He became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) in 2022, a designation held by less thatn 1% of physical therapists. He is a certified orthopedic manipulative therapist (COMT) and he is also board certified as a clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Andrew has experience treating all levels of athletes from novice to professional including; triathletes, runners, cyclists, dancers, CrossFitters, and rock climbers. His experiance is by no means limited to athletes alone, as he loves working with people with varied movement goals.

A lifelong athlete himself, Andrew grew up in Rockaway Beach running with his father. He ran his first NYRR race when he was just 2 years old.. He went on to have a successful high school and college lacrosse career before returning to endurance sports, competing as a runner, cyclist and Ironman triathlete. 

Andrew continues to enjoy an active lifestyle training for and racing trail and ultramarathon races. In his free time he enjoys a wide variety of activities including surfing, paddle boarding, hiking, climbing, yoga, CrossFit, and playing with his son and dog.

Dr. Cristina Sabbadin DPT

“I love what I do. Connecting with and helping people has always been a passion of mine. The most rewarding part of what I do is guiding patients interested in taking an active role in their recovery journey.”

Cristina grew up in northern Italy, earning her degree in Fisioterapia in 2014  at the University of Padua and has been working in the rehabilitation field since.

After moving to the United States in 2016 she attended the University of Michigan-Flint, earning a Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Her clinical experience involves working with individuals with acute and chronic orthopedic conditions and sports related injuries.

Cristina has had extensive clinical experience working with people with Hyperbobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility syndromes.

She also has experience in treating and has completed continuing education coursework focusing on running specific injuries.

Outside of work hours, Cristina splits her time between staying active and being creative. Painting, going to the gym and biking.

Emily Batsford - Virtual Front Desk

Despite the title of “virtual” Emily is in fact a real live person who manages the non-clinical side of Ascent Physical Therapy NYC and is who you will find on the other side of our “virtual front desk.”

Emily Batsford (she/they) is a theater maker and educator living in Brooklyn, NY. Their artistry prioritizes inclusion and accessibility, and includes immersive and physical theater practices, puppetry, & experimental forms.

Emily has an extensive performance history, traveling both internationally and across the United States. True to their passion for devising new work, Emily has also participated in countless work-in-progress showings at theatrical incubators across New York City.

When not performing, Emily is a Teaching Artist for Child's Play NY, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, New York City Children's Theater, Cottonwood NYC, and CO/LAB Theater Group (one of the beneficiaries of Ascent PT NYC’s community profit share!).

Emily holds a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University.
