Frequently Asked Questions

  •  Do you take my health insurance?

We accept many major plans with out-of-network benefits. But we are not in-network with any plans.

If you have insurance please include it when you fill out the new patient information which will be sent to our billing department. They will be able to verify your benefits and tell you exactly what your responsibility will be per session.

  • Do I need a prescription?

No, in New York State we have direct access meaning you can come directly to us. If we determine that you need medical assistance or imaging we will refer you out to a MD for follow up.

  • What trains are nearby?

We are just one block from the Smith Street F&G lines and nearby the 4 Av / 9th Street R line.

  • Is there parking?

Yes, we have parking behind our clinic. You can turn into the lot just before the draw bridge on 9th street. Please pull all the way around and park in the visitor parking in back. (*Please note the parking lot is currently under construction. Please email us for tips on where to park in the area.)

  • What is the access to the building?

Our entrance is on 9th street (buzz Ste1 Ascent PT NYC) and take a seat in the waiting area by the plant wall.

We will know that you are here because we let you in when you buzz. We keep 99% of our appointment times within 5 minutes of your scheduled visit.

Our entrace has 3 stairs to enter on 9th and 3 to descend once in the building (this is a retrofit due to flooding).

If you are post op, non-weight bearing, using an assitive device or just need some help with access to the front entryway your provider can assist you once you arrive.

The rear entrance is completely accessable without stairs but we do not have the ability to buzz you in from that entrance.

To access this you must enter the parking lot immediately south of the bridge (right turn when traveling north on 9th), drive around the building and call or email your provider when you arrive so we can let you in.

Please contact us if you need access to the rear entrance so we can assist you

(*please note this is the only wheelchair accessability to the building).

  • What types of conditions do you treat?

We are an orthopedic/musculoskeletal focused clinic. We have entensive training and experience treating the entire body including spine, low back pain, disc conditions, sciatica, neck pain, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, ankle sprains and fractures, achilles tendinopathy and tears, ACL tears, meniscus injuries, total knee and hip replacement, runners knee, hip impingement, sports hernia, TMJ dusfunction as well as a wide variety of sprains, strains, tendinopathies and post operative conditions.

  • Do you only work with athletes?

Not at all! While we have a ton of experience treating recreational and professional athletes and dancers the many of our patients are trying to get back to living and working without pain. We work with anyone who wants to get better.

  • What should I wear to my appointment?

Come dressed comfortably in clothing that is easy to move in. Sweats, shorts, tights and t shirt or tank tops. Wear the shoes that you work out in or walk in the most. If you are coming in for a bike fit please bring your bike shoes/cleats and bike kit to change into.
